Certass Chair Awarded CABE Honorary Fellowship at House of Lords

We’re incredibly proud to share some important news from the Certass leadership team.
On Friday 9th May 2025, our Chair, Jon Vanstone, was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE). The award was formally presented during CABE’s Presidential Inauguration, held at the House of Lords as part of their Centenary Year celebrations.
This prestigious recognition is awarded to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of the built environment. As a recipient, Jon now holds the post-nominals Hon FCABE, acknowledging his career of impactful leadership and service to the construction and home improvement sectors.

This honour comes as Jon continues to hold a number of key roles in the industry, including Chair of the Industry Competence Committee (ICC) at the Building Safety Regulator and Chair of the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC).
It also follows two other major recent recognitions:
- The inaugural Stunell Award from the NHIC, in memory of The Rt Hon. Lord Stunell OBE, awarded for individual excellence and leadership in raising industry standards.
- An Honorary Fellowship from the Institute of Construction Management, celebrating Jon’s contributions to competence and professionalism in the built environment.
