Member Update: Certificate Issuing Timescales

A friendly heads up, as we’ve had a few calls recently from homeowners asking when their Building Regulations Compliance Certificate will arrive.
Many installers have traditionally told customers that certificates are issued overnight or within a day or two, and that is completely understandable, as this has been the usual expectation for a long time.
However, due to a change at Building Control level, certificates are now issued on a weekly cycle rather than daily.
What this means for you
Once you register a job as normal, the certificate will still be produced and sent to the homeowner. It may just take a little longer than it previously did.
Nothing has changed in terms of your responsibilities or the registration process
This is purely a timing update on when certificates are released.
Installer tip
It may be worth letting customers know that certificates are issued weekly, so expectations are clear and you avoid follow up calls.
