Certass Competent Person Scheme is authorised by MHCLG

The business meets the requirements of the MHCLG licence terms to self-certify installations under regulations 4 & 7 of the Building Regulations effective in England and Wales. The business also has suitable business management systems, consumer financial protection and trained site operatives to meet the MHCLG Conditions of Authorisation.

Our Competent Person Scheme can save hundreds on each installation compared to using Local Authority Building Control.

All you need to do is provide us with the details of your installation through our online member’s area and we will:

✔ Notify your chosen IBG provider automatically

✔ Inform the Local Authority of the installation

✔ Provide either an electronic or paper copy of the Certass Certificate of Conformity to the Building Regulations

CQ covers a whole range of home improvements, so if you offer more than one service, this is the certification for you. CQ-Assured members also get free TrustMark membership.

Thermal Ratings Register

Installers who are registered with any of our Certass glazing schemes can also join our Thermal Ratings Register installer scheme allowing the installation company to provide WER labels in their company details.

Our PAS2030 scheme checks you meet the management system requirements of the PAS2030 document. When linked to our CQ-Assured scheme which checks your workmanship standards and provides membership of TrustMark. As TrustMark operates the new quality mark for ECO work we have every aspect of your certification requirements in a single scheme.

> We carry out a desktop review of your membership. 

On application, 2nd year & every 3 years thereafter >

> We carry out an on-site head office audit. Checking your personnel are suitably qualified, complaints logs and appropriate records are kept, a sample of job files and an on-site audit of installation work.

On-going >

> We check a sample of site operative installations to ensure the work meets scheme requirements.
