HOW CQ-Assured WORKS >

Certification >

Certification takes the same format as all our schemes with initial certification and regular surveillance. However, for site operative assessment we check the site supervisors for technical and supervisory competence rather than each installer.

Job Registration >

> All work that falls under your certification scope must be pre-registered with the scheme and signed off on completion except where the contract value is under £500 or where the installation is registered with another of our certification schemes such as Competent Person.

Certificate Issued >

We check a sample of work registered with our scheme to ensure the installation meets scheme requirements. Certass issue a Certificate of Conformity as evidence that the installer has self-certified the installation is to appropriate industry standards and codes of practice. Certass also issue a 2-year insurance backed workmanship warranty.

As part of the membership requirements for the CQ-Assured (Certass quality assured) Certification Scheme, scheme members are required to abide by our 14 point high level consumer code.

The consumer code demonstrates the business is dedicated to delivering a fair and quality service.

Each member will be issued with a signed certificate of the code.

Real Certification improving consumer confidence

This Certass Certification Scheme has a robust framework to ensure consumers are protected. We check workmanship on-site against appropriate industry Codes of Practice for workmanship standards. This scheme includes:

  • an initial company assessment
  • assessment of site supervisors
  • sample of on-going installations

Workmanship Warranty

Each installation lodged with the scheme will be issued with a Certificate of Conformity and a 2-year insurance backed workmanship warranty, protecting consumers in the event the contractor is unable to meet your workmanship guarantee obligations.

Offer 0% Finance

Many if the CQ members can offer finance. Approval is subject to our finance partner’s criteria.

Dispute Resolution

Every contractor, no matter how good, at some point may have a dispute they just cannot resolve. Certass offer a low cost alternative to court proceedings with our Alternate Dispute Resolution service.

From property extensions to individual trades.

The scheme is designed for all aspects of domestic repair, maintenance and improvement and allows a company to self-certify its installations for appropriate Codes of Practice.

As building fabric specialists we only cover the building fabric we do not cover services such as electrical of plumbing and heating.

Many installation contractors are specialists in their trade, however we recognise that many projects are multi-trade. We have designed the scheme for the needs of industry to be fully adaptable.

A cavity clearance scheme that can be relied on.

The certified company registered with us to self-certify it has adequately cleared the cavity and provide an Insurance Backed Warranty for the workmanship.

There are many examples of both good and bad practice in cavity clearance. Our scheme is designed to give clients confidence that the clearance system and workmanship provide an adequate finish.

The cavity clearance systems approved by our scheme are designed to provide at least a 97% clearance rate when undertaken in a workmanlike manner.

> Clearance of material from within an existing cavity wall

Making good on completion

Conservatories and conservatory warm roofs.

This scheme is designed to give consumers confidence when selecting a contractor for conservatory erection and warm roof replacements.

Conservatory erection is a multi-trade build and often aspects are subcontracted without adequate supervision, this is generally where the installation issues are found.

The business registered meets the requirements to provide the consumer with a fully warranted installation for all work aspects including sub-contracted works.
